Budget, Italian Government is looking for 1bln and targets illegal gambling

The new Italian Government is grappling with the Budget and looks again at the gambling sector. It aims to find between 800 million and one billion euros. The first hypothesis it’s currently studying is to increase once again the levy (the Preu) on slots and Vlts, a segment that has already been hit several times in recent years. But the Government also intends to target illegal gambling, in particular totems (machines that allow to reach unauthorized sites) and Ctds (premises that collect bets for offshore bookmakers). lp/AGIMEG
